The Lusty Glaze Dodgeball Tournament is one of the best beach days out during the summer here in Cornwall and what’s best is it’s only a short distance from our Cornish holiday cottages.
This fantastic and fun event is the perfect beach day out with exciting taster sessions, delicious food, live music and of course the dodgeball tournament where you can enter your own team! Just remember the advice from the cult Ben Stiller movie, the 5 D’s of dodgeball: Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge!
Taking place on Sunday July 17th it will be the fifth anniversary of this competition, which has grown each year, with this year’s event lining up to be the best yet!
If you are new to dodgeball it can look daunting at first but it is a safe, fun and exciting sport for people of all ages. The aim of the game is to throw foam balls at players in the opposing team with contact deemed a hit and the player is then out. The winners are the team that either knocks out all six players from the other team, or has the most players on the court at the end of the game with each match consisting of the best of three games.
The competition will run all afternoon, leading to the finals in the early evening before the live music starts with the beautiful Lusty Glaze providing the perfect back drop.
What makes this event so fun is the fancy dress costumes that the majority of people don for this weekend event, which really gets people into the party atmosphere!
Entry is free for spectators and it costs just £40 per team, for a squad of up to 10 players to enter the tournament so grab family and friends and get involved with this special event when staying in our Cornish holiday cottages.
