Here at The Valley we know how wonderful our beaches are, from the golden sand to the perfect Atlantic rollers that draw the surfers all year round to this magical county. But now it’s official, with three beaches in St Ives being ranked in the top 10 of some of the best throughout the British Isles, making Cornwall the county with the most winning beaches.

The TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Beach Awards are determined on the quality and quantity of reviews and reviews found on their site over the course of a year.

Despite rival county Devon scooping the Number 1 spot, Cornwall received the most awards of any county in the UK, with seven of its beaches featuring in the list with four being in the top 10.

Porthmeor Beach has been ranked as fifth best in the UK, alongside Porthminster Beach ranked seventh and Porthgwidden Beach ranked as 16th.

The awards prove what we already know, that Cornwall is a fantastic county to visit, and even though it may seem a while off, when the sun returns, our beaches are the best in the UK and even some of the finest in the world, that truly offers fun for everyone.

Why not book a boutique cottage through The Valley and enjoy this exquisite coastline for yourself? Whether that’s catching the wave of your life or just catching some rays whilst basking in the glorious Cornish sun.
