St Piranís Day parade celebrations in Truro

Cornwall is a county steeped in tradition, offering a range of events throughout the year displaying its rich heritage and history. Just one of these is the ancient celebration of St Piran’s Day, dedicated to the patron saint of the county.

Although the day is marked throughout Cornwall, one of the finest places to celebrate is Truro, where the annual parade is among the highlights of the day's festivities. It’s a parade that goes on despite the weather, bringing everyone in the town together. Expect to see an army of black and white flags and a fine collection of stalls lining the streets, offering an exquisite selection of food and drinks available.

The St Piran’s day Parade will take place on 5 March, with proceedings beginning from 12.45 outside the town's Waterfall gardens. If you happen to be staying in any of the Cottages in Cornwall during the period, why not come along and indulge in a taste of authentic Cornish tradition.
