Classic cars heading to Truro after 1,500 race

Visitors staying in our luxury self catering Cornwall cottages and heading to Truro are in for a treat this week. On Sunday April 29th, over 40 vintage cars will be pulling into the town as the final stop on their 1,500 mile race from Scotland.

The Truro Classic Car Challenge will see classic vehicles from around Europe including Jaguars and Porsches travel from Cape Wrath to Cape Cornwall.

The event is to raise money for Macmillan Cancer support and is said to test the driver’s skill, stamina and navigation as they travel the length of the country.

If you are in Truro on Sunday and would like to help out, there will be collections around the town. This year the organisers are hoping to reach the £500,000 mark with their fund raising, so far their total since they started 8 years ago is at £420,000.
