CRICKET LEGEND HENRY BLOFELD SET FOR ST. IVES SHOW
25 April 2012
One of cricket’s true connoisseurs, Henry Blofeld has ingrained his smooth, sultry voice into the minds of the British public. The Test Match Special commentator is heading to Cornwall this summer as part of his show ‘Shaken Not Stirred.’
An occasional Countdown guest, ‘Blowers’, as he is affectionately known, also has a good career as an amusing after dinner speaker and is renowned for his ability to charm audiences with his devastatingly descriptive grammar.
After beginning his cricketing education by playing seventeen matches for Cambridge University, he sidled into sports journalism and quickly established himself a reputation as someone who had an extraordinary command of the English language.
Audiences can expect amusing anecdotes and interesting stories in abundance when he performs at the Guildhall in St. Ives on Friday 15 June. It could be a great night out for any of those enjoying a break in one of the fine cottages in Cornwall this summer.
