Cornish cider wins national award

A Cornish cider, regarded a hallmark of the county’s fantastic culinary range, has won a top award in a national competition.

The Cornish Orchards Farmhouse cider, described by judges as a ‘very light, easy-drinking cider, packed with flavour’, was awarded gold in the Campaign for Real Ale’s national cider and perry championships at Reading.

It is a great achievement for the alcoholic beverage, which is brewed at Duloe, near Liskeard, using fruit produced on the farm, whilst also sourcing apples from other parts of the county. Cornish Orchards can boast more than 15 acres at Westnorth Manor Farm with 1,300 trees, whilst their final product has recently been rebranded with a creative and colourful style.

Should you be enjoying a stay in some of the fantastic 5 star accommodation in Cornwall this summer, be sure to sample this delectable, fruity cider. It represents just one of many mouth-watering local delicacies available throughout one of the most popular holiday destinations in Britain.
