World Bellyboard Championships to return this autumn

Excitement is gathering around the return of the World Bellyboard Championship, which will be taking place at the National Trust’s Chapel Porth beach in St Agnes on the first Sunday of September.

Returning for its tenth year, the event is a celebration of surfing culture, which has become synonymous with the county.

Encouraging hundreds of people to share stories, display boards and to go surfing with like-minded people, organisers believe this year’s event will be the best yet.

Mark Harold, regional director for the National Trust in the Southwest, an organisation that has been instrumental in the organisation of this year’s championship, said: ‘The day itself is always fun, whatever the weather, and attracts global interest and a huge number of people wanting to join in.’

‘I am sure the 10th year will be better than ever and I hope will show just how special the places looked after by the National Trust are, and how much fun can be had enjoying them.’

It could be a great event to enjoy whilst on a late summer sojourn to some gorgeous 5 star accommodation in Cornwall.
