THE SALTASH REGATTA AND WATERSIDE FESTIVAL WEEKEND

The Saltash Regatta is now in its 177th year and is one of the oldest Regatta’s in the country. This year the Saltash Regatta and Waterside Festival weekend takes place on June 16 – 17 offering visitors of all ages a chance to experience the wonderful nautical event.
The festival gives anyone attending a chance to see a range of great water sport events which carry on the historic tradition of Cornish Pilot Gig racing, with the Mixed Veteran & Junior Championships attracting 150 crews, all competing for prizes.
This year the organisers of the Regatta and Waterside Festival have set the theme as the Pirates of the Tamar and Sir Francis Drake and are encouraging visitors attending to enter into the spirit of the event and dress up in a chosen outfit. Visitors can also browse the market stalls, arts and craft stands children’s rides, food vendors, as well as music from live bands.
