Mousehole puts on the Sea Salts and Sail Festival

Whether you are camping or in 5 star accommodation in Cornwall, it’s inevitable that you are going to be looking for things to do to make your holiday memorable. For something different, take a trip to Mousehole for their biennial Sea Salts and Sail Festival this summer.

Mousehole is the most famous fishing village in Cornwall, and its fishing heritage is celebrated twice a year in the form of a festival – the Sea Salts and Sail festival. Visitors can witness and even take part in maritime traditions that have been the norm in Mousehole for over 200 years.

Choirs singing sea shanties, local vessels flaunting their sails as they cruise around the harbour and photo exhibitions of the locals at work are some of the things you can witness. If you want to take more of a hands on approach, you can take part in craft classes or attend the seafood cookery demonstrations – where you can try some of the local delicacies.

The Mousehole Sea Salts and Sail Festival runs from July 6th – July 8th this summer, be sure to pay it a visit for a day put with a difference.
