Charles and Camilla visit Cornwall

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall visited the county recently as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Their tour of the county is their seventh together and also marks Charles’s 60th year as the Duke of Cornwall.

Charles and Camilla visit Cornwall once a year and, despite this year’s rain, they thoroughly enjoyed their tour. Camilla visited the Royal Cornwall Show earlier this summer and on this next visit she and Charles opened the Heartlands visitors centre, a former mine with over 400 years of history. The centre is part of a community-led regeneration project, something that the Duke and Duchess wholeheartedly support.

They will also be attending a garden party at Trewithen, near Truro, held in honour of Charles’s 60 years as Duke. A number of Cornwall’s ‘unsung heroes’ have been invited along with various local Cornish charity representatives.

As members of the royal family, Charles and Camilla will have had a rather luxurious tour of Cornwall and if you expect a similar high standard take a look at our luxury accommodation in Cornwall.
