Nowhereisland visits Mevagissey as part of London 2012

Anyone staying in luxury cottages Cornwall this summer might want to take a daytrip to the picturesque and historical fishing village of Mevagissey on the south coast, as one of the lead cultural projects of the London 2012 Olympiad is arriving in its waters.

From August 13 – 16, Mevagissey will be welcoming ‘Nowhereisland’ when it arrives early in the morning and is moored just outside the harbour. Visitors will be able to meet the ambassadors of Nowhereisland and explore the Embassy - a mobile museum of objects which will be parked in the quayside car park.

Anyone attending will be able to hear stories about the island and its history. There will also be a range of other activities and events taking place during its visit to Mevagissey, before the Olympic art project moves onto its next exhibition location.

For more information or to book one of the free welcome workshops and join in the fun, simply visit the Nowhereisland website or call 0117 930 4282 for more details.
