GP14 World Sailing Championships at Looe, Cornwall

Just after the London Olympics have finished, the fishing town of Looe in Cornwall plays host to the prestigious 2012 GP14 World Championships, one of the best-known small-ship sailing events. If you are going to be staying in one of the local luxury cottages in Cornwall, you might like to add this event to you holiday itinerary.

The GP14 World Championship event promises spectators a week of colourful close-proximity racing from 130 competing entrants. The racing can easily be viewed from either the East Looe or West Looe coastlines overlooking Looe Bay.

Looe is a thriving fishing port and is not only a great venue for the championships, as it local waters suit such an event perfectly, but is also a lovely place to visit and offers excellent, safe beaches, a wide range of restaurants, cafés and pubs all within a short distance of the seafront.
