Enjoy a fun day out at the Portscatho Regatta

If you are visiting the south west soon and staying in one of the luxury cottages in Cornwall near Truro during August, why not get along to the Portscatho Regatta and enjoy a typically Cornish maritime event?

The Portscatho Regatta takes place on August 25 and offers all the fun and excitement of a traditional regatta, with a packed programme of sailing across an exciting and highly visible course within the beautiful Gerrans Bay, near Falmouth.

Visitors will be able to watch a variety of sea craft, which includes 18ft yachts, working boats, dinghies and even windsurfers, who will all battle it out in a plethora of competitions during this one day event. The Portscatho Regatta will also feature a passage race from the River Fal, with various water-sports events including canoeing swimming, and raft-racing.

In addition to this is whole host of fun shore-based activities such as sandcastle building and Tatam’s Beach will host a range of beach races for all ages. The events’ programme is backed up by an impressive myriad of live music, plus numerous stalls from many traders and also children’s games, a barbeque and refreshments, all to be found along the Lugger shoreline.
