Enjoy the Great Looe River Duck Race

Family’s staying in luxury holiday cottages in Cornwall this summer will undoubtedly be looking for activities and things to keep the children occupied during the holiday period. One such event that will definitely appeal to families and children of all ages is the annual Great Looe River Duck Race, taking to the water on August 27.

This is a charity event organised by the local Lions Club in the picturesque fishing town situated on Cornwall’s southern coast. Visitors are invited to purchase a £1 to a corresponding yellow plastic duck, at a designated time around 5,000 plastic ducks are released and floated down the river from the Looe Bridge to the finish line at the Lower Ferry Steps in the harbour.

The ticket holders with the first four finishing numbered ducks will win cash prises, but it is sure to be a fun time for both children and families as you cheer on your duck during the race.
