Guardian reporter praises arty Newlyn

A reporter recently published an article in the daily newspaper the Guardian which praises Newlyn as an artistic hotspot.

The travel journalist recently undertook a three day painting course at the Newlyn Art School which was opened last September, and experimented with life drawing and landscape painting. She painted under the supervision of a local artist whose paintings sell for thousands of pounds and, although not an art expert herself, she created paintings inspired by Cornwall’s beautiful coastline that she never thought she could produce.

As well as the painting course she reported on the fantastic artistic sites in the local area, from arty places to stay to artistic centres that specialise in ceramics and other artistic areas.

There is a wealth of artistic talent to discover when staying in nearby 5 star cottages in Cornwall, and whether you want to view art or make art there is plenty to see and do in and around Newlyn.
