Botallack Mine impresses CNN

A historic Cornish site is receiving a huge amount of attention after a major American broadcaster described it as one of the places to go before you die. Botallack in West Cornwall was described by CNN as “thrillingly dramatic” and since then their website visitor numbers have increased by 600%.

The mining remains were used in the filming of the popular television series Poldark; with a backdrop of Cornish hillside and dramatic Atlantic coast, the area is perfect for capturing the enchanting beauty of Cornwall.

The Botallack tin mine is important to the history of the area as it documents Cornwall’s colourful mining past and the lives of Cornish miners; at Botallack, the miners even tunnelled under the Atlantic ocean to get to the valuable tin.

Botallack’s inclusion in CNN’s list, which includes world famous sights such as the Taj Mahal, just goes to show that there is world famous beauty near luxury cottages Cornwall to be discovered right here in the UK.
