Eden Project creates Ice Creams

The Eden Project is welcoming the start of summer with a delicious twist; they have launched their own range of ice-creams with rainforest inspired flavours.

Nine flavours have been created and all are derived from plants that can be found in Eden’s biomes. Some interesting favourites include coconut, baobab and panela, clotted cream vanilla and panela, and passion fruit and panela.

Panela is unrefined whole cane sugar which is native to Colombia and has a delicious taste similar to caramel, but, more importantly, it is a sustainably produced crop that provides a living for around 300,000 people. An official Colombian Ambassador was so impressed with the authentic taste of the ice cream that he ordered a whole crate of each flavour to serve to his guests at the Colombian embassy.

The tasty ice cream is only on sale at the Eden Project and at Maltby Street Market in London. Be sure to visit the Eden Project whilst staying in self catering Cornwall cottages and finish off a fascinating look round the tropical biomes with a refreshing ice cream.
