Alex Katz’s ‘Give Me Tomorrow’ Exhibition at the Tate St Ives

If you are heading down to the southern part of the Cornish peninsula while staying in cottages in Cornwall for a late summer break, you might like to add a little culture to your holiday with a visit to the St. Ives Tate gallery.

During the next month, the Tate in St. Ives will be showing an exhibition by the American artist Alex Katz, who is a talented and prolific artist whose work spans six decades. He is a figurative artist who is associated with the pop-art movement which emerged in the 1950s, and is well known around the world for his many paintings, sculptures, prints and works of art he has produced.

The “Give Me Tomorrow” exhibition by Alex Katz celebrates his 85th birthday and brings together over 30 canvases, with a selection of collages and cut-outs, which span his wonderful artistic career.

This exhibition focuses on his works of art which depict beach scenes and images of family holidays, which fits really well with the location of St. Ives.

This exhibition will be shown until September 23 at the St. Ives Tate and admission is £6.50 (concessions are available).
