See the Human Race Festival of Sport

Even though the Olympics are over, sport fever continues to grip the country, and not just with the Paralympics. Cornwall is hosting its very own sporting extravaganza; the Human Race Festival of Sport.

This will be the first year of the event and organisers have been working hard to make it absolutely fantastic. The event, held on 14th-16th September, is based on using the amazing beauty of Cornwall to facilitate some intense sporting challenges.

Events include a triathlon, open water swims, beach runs and cycling. The open water swims take place against the backdrop of St Michael’s Mount in the sheltered waters of Mounts Bay, the beach run route passes the Mount, Marazion and Penzance, and the cycling events take competitors through the stunning Cornish countryside and along the coastline.

The events are not for the faint hearted and competition looks like it will be fierce. Those staying in luxury cottages Cornwall can enjoy the event as a spectator and cheer on the athletes, before heading to the Festival Hub to enjoy live music, some of Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts, the brewery tent and much more.
