The Minack Theatre up for 2 British Travel Awards

The Minack Theatre is one of Cornwall’s most stunning and well known leisure attractions and is an open air venue known all over the world. Having won many awards in the past, the Minack may soon be getting the ultimate seal of approval as it has been shortlisted for 2 separate British Travel Awards.

These awards are the biggest in the country and the two categories that the Minack has been nominated for are ‘Best Heritage Attraction’ and ‘Best Leisure Attraction’. In the former, the open air theatre is up against the likes of Edinburgh Castle and St Paul’s Cathedral, and major tourist attractions such as the Eden Project and Madame Tussauds in the latter.

The theatre is set on a rocky outcrop jutting out into the sea, and performances draw in hundreds of locals and holidaymakers staying in luxury cottages Cornwall who can watch shows with the beautiful sea and coastline as a backdrop.

Voting for the British Travel Awards closes at the end of September, and The Minack is hoping that its many visitors will help win it for them this year.
