Truro Wins South West in Bloom

The Cornish town of Truro recently received the news that the town was to get an award for its stunning floral displays.

The city was given first place in the annual South West in Bloom competition in recognition for its beautiful parks, gardens and flower beds. The judges were so impressed, in fact, that the city was also awarded the Portman Cup and the Sponsor's Award for The Most Meritorious Entry.

Richard Budge, the City Council's parks manager, commented on the win, stating his shock at the result. He put the city’s success down to the high level of community involvement and the strong commitment from the city’s park teams.

If you’re staying in one of region’s luxury cottages in Cornwall, there couldn’t be a better time to visit the city and see the impressive displays. So, if you’re staying in the area, why not head on down to see what the fuss is about?
