40,000 Flock to Cornwall for Food Festival

Early indications are that this year’s Cornwall Food & Drink Festival in Truro has been the most successful ever, drawing in over 40,000 visitors.

The festival this year was held in a marquee on Lemon Quay and packed full with around 60 or so exhibitors. The director of Cornwall Food & Drink, Ruth Huxley, commented on this year’s success, saying that the exact number of guests had surprised many; they knew it was a popular event but not quite this popular.

It’s estimated that at the busiest point over 3,000 people were arriving an hour, a fact that delighted many of the events exhibitors. The popular appeal of this year’s festival has been put down to the great range and quality of products on offer, the reasonable weather and the great exhibitor displays.

If you missed out this year you can always book one of the many luxury cottages in Cornwall for next year as the events bound to be back for another run.
