World Pasty Championships to Return to the Eden Project

The World Pasty Championships, which saw its inaugural year in 2012, is set to return in March next year and will once again take place at the Eden Project.

The first ever event was hailed as a great success, with over 100 competitors taking part and hundreds of visitors coming to see the winners. The event this year is expected to build on the foundations of last year’s, with the addition of new entry classes and a grand Oggy Oscars party at the end.

The championship will once again be backed by the Cornish Pasty Association and is hoping to draw an even bigger crowd of competitors, both amateur and professional, next year. There’s also going to be a new competition class setup for small, medium and large companies to compete for the title of the best bakery.

If you’re enjoying a stay in one of the many 5 star cottages in Cornwall next march, keep an eye out for the dates being finalised, as the event is bound to be well worth the trip.
