Rare shark donated to Cornish aquarium

Those enjoying a break in one of the stunning 5 star cottages in Cornwall over the coming months could be tempted for a family day out to one of the county's most popular attractions after a rare shark was donated to Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium.

The bamboo shark, which was donated after its Plymouth owner realised it was getting too big for her tank, can grow up to a metre in length and will add a certain tropical touch to the attraction's make-up.

Most commonly found along the east coast of the Indian Peninsula to northern Australia, the breed type has been classified as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List and will now be nurtured by staff in the aquarium's quarantine area.

Just one of many fantastic family-friendly attractions dotted around this beautiful part of the UK, it could be an ideal day out to entertain family members of all ages.
