Camborne's Trevithick Day

If you're staying near Camborne this April, enjoying one of the region’s many luxury cottages in Cornwall, there's an interesting event coming up: Trevithick Day.

The annual event always draws in the crowds, with thousands coming to see the stunning steam engines and great entertainment. The day long event, which takes place this April 27th, celebrates the life of one of Cornwall's lesser known inventors, Richard Trevithick (1771-1833), giving him the recognition he deserves and celebrating his achievements and links to the region’s mining history.

Visitors to the event will be able to enjoy trade stalls around the town, locals dressed in period costume and live entertainment. The highlight of the event, however, has to be the impressive steam engines, with thousands of holiday makers turning up every year to see them in action.

The day out is ideal for all the family and a fantastic way to learn a little more about Cornwall's past.
