The Searchers set for Cornwall gig

English beat group The Searchers are to perform in Cornwall this summer as part of a series of gigs taking place throughout the UK, it has been announced.

The popular band – who emerged as part of the 1960s Merseybeat scene along with the Beatles, the Fourmost, the Merseybeats and the Swinging Blue Jeans – will be hitting the Hall For Cornwall in Truro on Friday 7 June.

Tickets are still available for the gig but fans planning on combining a great night of live music with a break in one of the excellent 5 star cottages in Cornwall are being urged to book quickly to avoid disappointment.

Perhaps best known for hit covers of songs such as the Drifters’ 1961 song ‘Sweet for My Sweet’ and the Orlons’ ‘Don’t Throw Your Love Away’, The Searchers have cemented their status as one of Britain’s most legendary groups.

Be sure to check them out whilst enjoying a summer sojourn to the region in 2013.
