Celebrate St. Piran's Day with a parade in Truro

Many towns across Cornwall are preparing for the St. Piran's Day celebrations in March, and Truro is no exception. Those staying in self catering Cornwall cottages can join in with a whole lot of fun at the Truro St. Piran's Day Parade on 5 March 2013.

The parade will start at the Waterfall Gardens just off St. George's Road at 1.15pm and will carry on through the city before arriving at High Cross for around 1.45pm, when an exciting series of performances will begin. The Mayor of Truro and Bishop of Truro Cathedral will also be there on the day and will be announcing each of the performances.

A real celebration of Cornish tradition and history, visitors to the area should keep an eye out for Bosvigo, who will be acting out the story of St. Piran, and Truro School Prep who will be singing the Ballad of St. Piran. The parade will carry on come rain or shine, so wear warm clothing and be prepared to cheer along!
