National Maritime Museum volunteer up for Tourism Superstar of 2013

Cornwall's National Maritime Museum in Falmouth is one of the most popular attractions in all of the South West, and much of this is down to the people who run the museum. One of these people has had his hard work recognised and could go on to be named the Tourism Superstar of 2013 after he was shortlisted for the VisitEngland award.

Colin Spargo has reportedly given around 350 hours a year of his time to showing people around the museum, sharing his own stories of Cornwall to visitors, something which he has loved to do ever since he started at the museum in 2009. He is the only volunteer who has been nominated for the national award, which honours people who go beyond the call of duty to make sure that visitors have an unforgettable experience.

Those who visit the museum whilst staying in 5 star cottages in Cornwall can meet Colin for themselves and can vote here for him to be named Tourism Superstar of 2013. Voting is open until 8 March and the winner will be announced during 16-24 March: English Tourism Week.
