FANTASTIC PASSENGER LEVELS RECORDED ON CORNWALL'S MARITIME LINE
6 March 2013
Rail is one of the most popular methods of transport across Devon and Cornwall, with recent figures confirming that record numbers took advantage of the scenic routes in the counties during 2012.
The largest number of trips was taken on the Maritime Line, a popular route linking the cathedral city of Truro to the lively coastal town of Falmouth. In total, 613,000 journeys were made in just 12 months, a figure which marks a colossal 147% increase compared to 2006. Seven major routes in both Devon and Cornwall saw a rise of 4.7% when put against figures for the previous 12 months.
With fascinating landscapes found in every direction, taking the train through the South West countryside promises to be a fantastic experience. If you are looking forward to a stay in one of the luxury cottages in Cornwall this summer, why not come and discover why the train is so popular?
