£250,000 RAISED FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO SOUTH WEST COAST PATH
26 March 2013
The South West Coast Path has secured funding of £250,000, ensuring that a number of projects can now take place across the longest network of its kind in Britain.
The money was raised thanks to the Great South West Walk, an event which was designed to commemorate the 40th anniversary of The South West Coast Path Association. The 630 miles of traffic free path, which runs from North Devon, around the Cornwall peninsula and as far as Dorset, will now be improved through 50 separate projects.
It is hoped there could be even more funding raised for the path soon, with 56 sponsored walks taking place over the next month.
If you are looking forward to a stay in one of the 5 star cottages in Cornwall, this coastal path is undoubtedly one of the finest ways of discovering the beautiful coastline the county has become famous for, offering mile after mile of peace and tranquillity.
