COUNCILLORS TO VOTE ON DRIVE-THROUGH CORNISH PASTY TAKEAWAY
18 April 2013
A drive-through pasty takeaway could be unveiled in Helston if plans for the food establishment are given the go ahead by councillors. Councillors from Helston will be voting on the bid today, and a great deal of people are hoping that they support the idea of a pasty takeaway.
The plan for the pasty takeaway proposes that the former Hilltop Garage on the outskirts of Helston be turned into a takeaway which can manufacture and sell pasties on site. The premises would include a drive-through service, perfect for those staying in a luxury cottage in Cornwall who are looking for a quick, delicious and traditional bite to eat.
The site will be big enough to provide tasty pasties for takeaway customers and to create produce to be packaged up and sold in shops across England. There has been "significant local support" for the pasty takeaway, and both visitors to the area and locals will be eagerly awaiting a decision from councillors within the next few days.
