PLANS UNVEILED FOR NEWLYN TO GET STATE-OF-THE-ART CINEMA
14 May 2013
Newlyn could soon be getting its very own cinema after plans were made public for an old dilapidated fish house to be turned into a state-of-the-art venue for film screenings.
Plans for one of the old fish warehouses to be turned into an independent cinema were made public last week, and it is hoped that a two screen venue with a cafe, bar and restaurant will be given the go ahead by the council. The project is being led by Alastair Till and Suzie Sinclair, who have together been developing the idea of a "cutting edge" cinema in Newlyn for 6 years.
If the plans get given the go ahead, those staying in luxury accommodation in Cornwall could soon enjoy a night out at the cinema upon the completion of the project next year, and will see the return of a cinema to Newlyn for the first time in 50 years.
