The Summer Exhibition Kicks off at the Tate St Ives

This coming weekend will see the start of the Tate St Ives Summer Exhibition and this year it's set to take a look back at the region's most famous artist, alongside some of their contemporaries.

This year's Summer Exhibition takes a closer look at works by eight artists, who cover a whole range of topics and mediums. From famous works by local artists such as Patrick Heron and Barbara Hepworth to overseas talent such as Allen Ruppersberg, the exhibition should feature something for everyone.

Visitors will be invited to explore the ways in which the various languages, ideologies, ideas and discourses appear to run between the generations, comparing famous works and the evolution of ideas.

The event is an ideal day out for anyone who's enjoying a stay in luxury cottages in Cornwall and runs from May 18th – September 29th. More information about the event, including ticket prices, can be found on the Tate website.
