Free exhibition at Wheal Martyn China Clay Country Park this May

Cornwall's history is full of stories of industrial success, and those soon to be staying in luxury cottages in Cornwall can discover the county's history in the china clay at a free exhibition being run as part of European Minerals Day.

Wheal Martyn China Clay Country Park is holding a special open day on 24 May which includes a free exhibition, offering visitors the opportunity to see how the industry has developed from its beginnings to its modern-day operation and how it is used in products we use every day across the globe.

On top of this, free guided coach tours will be taking visitors to Imerys' Littlejohns Pit, believed to be the biggest china clay pit in the world. The facilities at Wheal Martyn China Clay Country Park will also be open to visitors on the day, including displays of old china clay machinery, interactive displays, a restaurant and shop.

Admission and parking for this great day out is free and doors open from 10.30am until 3.30pm.
