Poldark to return to BBC One for brand new series

The announcement of the last few programmes to be commissioned by Danny Cohen, BBC One controller, were met with a great deal of excitement earlier this month when he revealed that television series Poldark will be returning to screens.

The show was filmed in the 1970s and was set in late 18th century Cornwall, and its gripping storyline and spectacular setting has made it one of the nation's best loved television series. Many were delighted to hear that the BBC will be remaking it, and Danny Cohen said that he hopes audiences will enjoy the "range and creative ambitions" that Poldark and the other commissioned programmes will bring.

It is unknown when the new series of Poldark will air, but those soon to be staying in dog friendly cottages in Cornwall could soon see film crews visit beauty spots across the county, including in locations such as Godolphin Cross and Lostwithiel that were in the 70s version.
