New cycle route opened in Truro

A new cycle and pedestrian link has been officially opened between west Truro with the city centre by the youngsters of Treyew Primary School and students of Richard Lander Schools and Truro College.

Representatives from Cornwall Council's transportation service, CORMAC, Sustrans and the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust were also in attendance for the unveiling of the trail, which joins existing routes between Treliske, Gloweth and Threemilestone, offering a safe alternative to the busy A390 and giving walkers a picturesque trek through the countryside behind Malabar.

Councillor Bert Biscoe, Cornwall Council portfolio holder for transport and waste said he hoped the route would benefit visitors and city dwellers for 'years to come'.

Should you be planning a cycling holiday to the Duchy whilst on a break in one of the stunning Cornish 5 star cottages over the coming months, be sure to check out this wonderful slice of beautiful riverside woodland.
