Cornwall to bake in sunshine this week

Summer has officially started and so has the sunshine in Cornwall, with forecasters predicting a sweltering week for the Duchy over the coming days.

The sun is set to shine until Friday, when temperatures could reach up to 24 C, beating the current record for the warmest temperature in the UK which stands at 23.8 C in Cumbria on 24 April.

A Met Office spokesperson confirmed that holidaymakers in the region were in for a fantastic week weather-wise, adding that temperatures would rise steadily.
