Fal Under Fire at the National Maritime Museum

The National Maritime Museum in Falmouth is preparing to take a look into the area's Second World War history.

The new exhibition kicks off this June 20th and runs throughout the summer, ending on September 22nd. It looks to provide an insight into the role the region had to play at the height of World War II, covering the workings of the docks, dealing with convoy casualties and Falmouth’s strategic significance.

Visitors will be able to see art and photography from the period, showing Carrick Roads and Falmouth Bay packed with anchored vessels and the defence of the port and surrounding area. The Exhibition should make for an ideal day out for anyone enjoying a local Cornwall cottage holiday and it's suitable for all the family.

More information about the event and the museum in general can be found on the National Maritime Museum website.
