Truro cocktail bar wins praise from GQ magazine

A Truro bar has won praise from GQ, a well-known men's lifestyle magazine. As well as being a popular haunt with those enjoying a self catering holiday in Cornwall, The Old Grammar School reportedly offers one of the best 'off-menu' cocktails in the country.

The Old Grammar School offers tapas and cocktails, but the cocktail that won the bar a spot on GQ magazine's 'Vital Statistics' page does not feature on the menu. The 'Bruised Monkey' cocktail is a delightful combination of Monkey Shoulder Whiskey, Cornish Blackberries, Cornish apple juice and lemon zest, and the only way to order it is to slide over a sketch of a monkey to the bartender.

The Old Grammar School appeared alongside famous bars in London, Edinburgh and Manchester in terms of its excellent 'off-menu' cocktail offerings, and Simon Radcliffe, owner of the bar, has said that they are "proud" to represent Truro and all it has to offer to visitors.
