TRURO ART EXHIBITION SHOWS BIRDS FROM THE TRAIN
20 August 2013
An art exhibition in Truro is showing Cornwall artist Kim Pilgrim’s body of work, Birds From The Train. This series of 29 paintings, made over the past year, was inspired by the rich diversity of birds Kim saw whilst travelling around Cornwall and the UK by train – an experience shared by many visitors enjoying self-catering cottages in Cornwall.
Kim said: “Producing these paintings has caused me to become much more aware of what’s going on outside the bubble of the carriage.” Hoping that others will enjoy her paintings as much as she enjoyed creating them, she encourages commuters “to look more at what’s going on outside the window”, which in Cornwall would privilege travellers with stunning sights of wildlife in their natural habitats.
Birds From The Train is being shown in the cafe at Archie Browns, Kenwyn Street, Truro, from August until October 1st.
