PRIMESTOCK IS CORNWALL LIVESTOCK AT ITS BEST!
28 November 2013
If you are visiting the Cornwall area and using the luxury holiday cottages with your family and children then this is a fantastic opportunity for the little ones to become familiar with the sight of real farm animals up close. If livestock is something they are not used to then this popular occasion which brings the countryside and farming into the heart of the City is a great introduction.
The Primestock show is believed to be the only show in Britain to be held in the centre of a city which makes this a very unique event indeed.
You will get to see the very best of the Cornwall's sheep and beef cattle as well as being able to appreciate a fantastic show and exhibition of farm produce, preserves, floral art, photography, crafts, host of other exhibits, and of course food too!
When the Primestock Society celebrated its Centenary in 2000, the occasion was marked by moving the show onto Lemon Quay so you can see all of the event’s goings on within view of Truro’s major shops and stores, so you can do some shopping before or after the event as well.
Attractions will be continuing through the evening as part of late night shopping in the City, but one show not to be missed is the Young Handlers competition, an opportunity for children and young people from local farms to show their skills at leading and handling dairy and beef calves in the main ring.
