VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS MARKET RETURNS TO TRURO
9 December 2013
cottages in Cornwall provide a fantastic destination for modern vacations.
They also mean that if you’re staying in the Truro area that you can sample the
Victorian Christmas Market taking place this week.
As the event goes into its ninth year, the market has seen its success grow year upon year. The centrepiece and highlight of the Christmas activities in Truro, you will be able to peruse over 70 traders, exhibitors and producers, all taking place in Lemon Quay Piazza, the ideal location as it is in the centre of the City. The event is made even more authentic by the stall-holders being in costume throughout the 6 day event and is housed in a huge, heated marquee.
The marquee is split into two clear zones; the Food Hall which will be delightfully full of all the things you could possibly want to enjoy over Christmas, with selections of meat, chocolate, cheese, chocolates, preserves, ales and liqueurs. The second zone is where you will find Arts, Crafts and Gifts. This is where you will find clothing, artwork, jewellery, books, pottery, books and much more.
Each year, the Mayor of Truro comes to and judges the best dressed trader as well as the best decorated stall (look for the certificates on the stalls to see who's won!). Winners are presented with prizes too, so there’s sure to be some real effort made.
There will be food and drinks available for visitors, from snacks to full meals which will be offered all day. Don’t forget it’s Truro late night shopping on the Wednesday as well.
