Donít miss the St Ives Feast in February!

Visitors to luxury cottages in Cornwall are in for a traditional treat in February if they take a trip to St Ives in the form of the St Ives Feast.

The feast is an ancient tradition that offers a rare opportunity to watch the game of Hurling the Silver Ball which is a centuries’ old form of what we know today as rugby.

Taking place on February 10 the start of the animated game of hurling of the silver ball will see participants attempt to win the ball off of each other around the town. The winner is declared once the ball is returned to the mayor on the steps of the Guildhall of St Ives.

We advise getting a spot near the beach to cheer on your favourite participant. Don’t be surprised to see some of those involved diving into the rather frigid sea to escape with the ball.
