Plans afoot for annual Easter Truro cultural festival

ANYONE staying in 5 star cottages Cornwall this April can look forward to welcoming in the start of spring in style.

Plans are currently being finalised for Truro’s annual cultural festival, which is organised and paid for by the Truro Business Improvement District (BID).

We’ve already blogged about how there were plans for the festival to take place for a second time.

Now those plans are firmer and we’ve learned how the festival is set to take place between April 4 and 20, bringing life to the city over Easter.

The festival took place for the first time last year with more than 50 events taking place across the city, with events for everyone.

This year the organisers plan to host even more events as part of a programme which will be designed to appeal to everyone.

This year organisers are particularly looking forward to the return of Gig on the Quay, more art exhibitions than last year, a number of creative workshops, a comedy night, a colourful spring flower show, several literary talks and an Easter Sunday Family Fun Day.

Most of the festival is set to take part in the festival’s marquee on Lemon Quay, but six more pop-up festival gazebos will also be hosting events across the city through the fortnight long festival.

Also hosting events will be a number of local businesses and buildings, including Truro Cathedral, Royal Cornwall Museum, Lemon Street Market, Waterstones, Truro Library and more.
