St Piranís beer festival returns to Falmouth

A popular beer festival returns to Falmouth this weekend – and it’s taking place just a few miles from one for the best places to stay in Cornwall.

Of course, we’re biased and are always going to say The Valley is a brilliant place to stay.

But there’s no bias involved when we say the St Piran’s Beer Festival at Five Degrees West in Falmouth is a brilliant excuse to sink a few pints of Cornish ale.

The restaurant and bar has been hosting the festival at its premises in Grove Place for the past few years and it’s always a riot.

With more than 20 Cornish ales and beers available and as many Cornish ciders as the bar can lay its hands on, there’s never a shortage of things to drink.

From Cornish Rattler to St Austell Brewery’s Korev, there’s something for all tastes.

There’s also great entertainment, with bands scheduled to ply on each of the festival’s three nights.

Friday, March 7, sees The Grace Notes play their own brand of jazz while Saturday night will belong to six piece Land of the Giants, and their funky upbeat blend of ska, reggae and blues.

Bringing the festival to a close on Sunday will be traditional folk act Black Velvet, which should make for a suitably rip-roaring end to a weekend of celebrating all that’s Cornish.
