CORNWALL LEADING THE WAY TO PROMOTE ELECTRIC MOTORING
12 March 2014
Cornwall is fast becoming one of the UK's first 'Plugged in Places' and this means that it will be easier for visitors to travel around from their luxury holiday cottages to attractions and locations in electric vehicles than ever before.
Established Hawkins Motor Group, is heading up the electric motoring movement and have recently installed two rapid chargers at their dealerships in Hayle and St Stephen.
There are over 400 charging stations planned for Cornwall that will come from the UK Department for Transport's Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) funding. So far three charging stations have already been installed and are in full working order including two rapid chargers.
"Cornwall has quickly become one of the country's fastest growing regions for electric vehicle sales showing how eager we are for the adoption of innovative technology and environmentally-friendly transport – especially when it's so kind to the purse-strings" said Johnny. The new rapid chargers provide 0-80 per cent charge in the rapid time of just sixty minutes – allowing motorists to have peace of mind and stress-free trips when travelling around the county.
