WILDLIFE CHARITY TO CELEBRATE MOVE TO TREBAH
7 May 2014
A local wildlife charity is set to celebrate its move to a new home near The Valley this weekend.
The Cornwall Wildlife Trust was founded in 1962 as part of an effort to help protect Cornwall’s habitats and wildlife.
Since 1962 the Trust has been based just outside Truro but has now opted to move to a new base at the beautiful Trebah Gardens, near Falmouth and just a short drive from The Valley’s Cornwall holiday cottages.
To celebrate its move the charity is set to host its annual celebration of wildlife this weekend, May 11 and 12.
The event aims to give visitors the chance to get a first-hand look at Cornwall’s wildlife and learn more about it from experts.
With Cornwall’s wildlife well worth celebrating the event is a great opportunity to find out about the diversity of the county’s wildlife and show support for its protection.
Beautiful Trebah makes a wonderful setting for a spring day out in its own right, so with the celebration going on as well the gardens are sure to be busy this weekend.
The event will see experts give wildlife advice and information, and will also provide visitors with the chance to meet bats, barn owls, buzzards and snakes, and go rockpooling with the trust’s marine team on Trebah’s private beach.
