FESTIVAL SUCCESS FOR SAVANNAH HALL
3 June 2014
A young woman from Carnon Downs has found success at a music festival.
Teenager Savannah Hall comes from Carnon Downs, the village where The Valley’s luxury Cornwall holiday cottages is based, and has been hailed as a virtuoso pianist after performing at the Wall Music Festival in Hayle.
The festival was held in Wall Methodist Church, over five days.
With classes in woodwind, brass, strings and piano, as well as vocal solos and choir, hundreds of musicians took part.
Among them was Savannah who performed a piano duet with Lucy Wallis, from Penzance.
Another local who performed at the festival was Elodie Lawry, 14, who is also from Carnon Downs.
Judging at the festival was David Patrick, a fellow at The British and International Federation of Festivals.
Festival secretary, Hilary Mock, said: "We are known as a friendly festival and, as always, were pleased to welcome back some familiar faces as well as some new ones this year."
The festival was held from Tuesday, May 13, to Saturday, May 17, when a concert was put on by winning performers and special trophies were presented.
