FAMILY FUN AT ST MAWES REGATTA THIS MONTH
5 June 2014
If you’re looking for a superb day out with all the family while enjoying a break at our boutique cottages Cornwall then the St Mawes regatta could be just the thing. The regatta has been successfully running annually for over 170 years now and is a traditional Cornish community day that welcomes visitors to enjoy the experience
The event offers up a host of things to with children’s beach sports taking place in the morning, not forgetting the age-old traditions of the egg and spoon, sack, 3 legged races. And there’s a ‘mothers and fathers’ race as well as free sweets to finish off the fun for the children.
Starting from 3pm, the afternoon events will set off with a fantastic array of sailing races for local and national classes with the band taking up their position on the quay to commence their musical programme. Mid-afternoon will see the aquatic events taking place in the harbour with swimming, rowing, shovel, and novelty races- the perfect time to make some memories.
Prizes will be presented to those lucky participants as soon as once the racing has finished at St Mawes Social Club, where a warm welcome, refreshments and bar will be available.
