5 OF CORNWALL’S BEST SURFING BEACHES NAMED FOR INTERNATIONAL SURFING DAY
25 June 2014
Cornwall cottages with a pool are a firm favourite among visitors to the region along with our amazing beaches which are so popular for surfing. On any day you can choose a different beach depending on which one is producing waves that day for any number of reasons. However, if you visit often then like most local surfers you will have a favourite break that you will always prefer to surf when it the waves are rolling in.
Five beaches that you might fancy taking a trip to while you’re on holiday here in Cornwall included in the favourites list were Sennen- debatably one of the most stunning beaches in all of Cornwall, which possesses crystal blue waters and boasts consistent waves throughout the year. Godrevy was also in the list with its three miles of golden sand and appeal for many surfers who come from all over the county.
Fistral beach in Newquay was of course included with it being the surfing capital of Cornwall. Not only a hot spot for people who want to learn to surf, but attractive to experienced surfers in winter months when the big swells roll in too.
Praa Sands and Porthleven were included for their individual qualities but particularly Porthleven for being the location of one of the few reefs in Cornwall that, on its day, can offer up some world-class waves.
